Welcome to
the webpage of the 313th class at Lufthansa Flight
Training. We started our training in February 2002. The
first phase (theory only) was absolved in Bremen, Germany. After five months
including navigation, electronics,
aerodynamic/piston engines, air law, meteorology and
psychology (human factors), we went to Goodyear, Phoenix in
Arizona for flight training. |
|
In July we
arrived in the middle of the desert and flew the Piper Archer III 181 "Heavy"
and the
even more heavy,
faster and steadier Beechcraft Bonanza. We have had the
pleasure to see the beautiful landscape of Arizona from
above almost every day. Although we were flying IFR (in
simulated bad weather), we really appreciate the nice weather
in Arizona. |

The
practical flight training was combined with theory. Mr.
Claussen showed us how to build a radio. Mr. Scheuermann
made
sure that we did not get lost up there, while Mr. Günther
taught us the difference between class A and class B fire-extinguishers.
Claudia and Evi are our charming
ladies, and along with 19 gents we retured
to Germany in January 2003. |
| Another
five months of theory in Bremen were completed in June 2003.
On June the 16th-18th we had our ATPL-tests. Almost one month
later we went to Braunschweig for our Long Range-examination.
The last theory-test was written on 21st of August, this time
for the PA-42 Cheyenne. This phase of flight training was
completed in January/February 2004. After spending a long time
in holding, most colleagues of course 313 are now working hard
on their type-rating. |

Best regards, 313.
